Lord, we pray that you help
us develop optimism as a philosophy of life, thus demonstrating our faith in
you.
Help us also to take an
active interest in good government and civic affairs, thus bringing honorable
leadership to our community.
Lord, instill in us a
respect for both God's law and civil law, thus encouraging the youth to do
likewise.
Help us to work for
international accord, for children are the first to be hurt in conflict.
Lord, aid us in promoting friendship
among all people, for they are also our neighbors.
Help us to encourage
the development of youth, for they are our hope for the future.
Lord, instill in us an
understanding that the giving of ourselves in service to others will advance
the well being of all humankind.
